1. You are not prepared, and it is not the right time to write

2. The topic and type of writing are new to you, and hence you lack confidence.

3. You are having a fear of failure.

4. The deadline is approaching, and you feel you won’t be able to finish it on time.

5. You want everything to be perfect and can’t write until everything is set.

Writer’s block is not something from which you cannot overcome. Although it is quite difficult, there are ways and solutions which can help you start off.

1. Go Out: When you feel your mind is blocked and you are not able to think anything, go out for a walk or just hang out with friends for some time. This will refresh your mind and help you start thinking from a new perspective.

2. Write No Matter What: If you are not able to write anything meaningful, start writing anything that comes to your mind. Just take a pen and paper and put things in words—even things which you would never want anyone to read. You can later throw it in a dustbin, but it will definitely give you a breakthrough where you find something worth writing finally.

3. Talk to Someone: This is the most effective technique to get an idea for your thesis. Meet any of your friends or think of an imaginary person in front of you. Discuss with him your thesis topic and explain everything in simple words. This will help you align your thoughts in the right direction, and you will get to know where things are going wrong.

4. Find a Different Time: Maybe your working routine has become monotonous, and you need to change this time. You can write early in the morning as your brain is absolutely fresh at this time and you can easily think about new ideas.

5. Eliminate Distractions: Distractions are many a times reason for writer’s block. Eliminate all the disturbances and write with a cool mind.

6. Listen to Good Music: Music is a great way to freshen you up. Listen to your favorite music for some time to get back to the track.

7. Watch Inspiring Videos or Read Quotes: Motivational videos and quotes will inspire you to start working on your thesis with new zeal and energy.

8. Read: If you cannot write, start reading your favorite books. It will give you new ideas as well as motivation to write.

If nothing works, then divert your brain completely by doing something that interests you, like painting or playing basketball. You will surely be able to get the motivation back and finish the thesis successfully.
